“The righteous are as bold as LIONS”-Proverbs 28:1

Purpose:

The ROAR program is designed to awaken the courage within young men. Over the course of the year, participants will be challenged both physically and spiritually and will be taught practical skills to equip them to serve and grow in God’s Kingdom. Each activity is designed to be both fun and challenging, with the ultimate aim to develop Biblical masculinity and the strong character needed to hold fast to their faith, and unapologetically roar God’s truth in the cultural climate of the world today.

Details:

Boys will gather weekly to fellowship with one another as they learn basic survival skills, develop physical fitness, work hard, serve others, become leaders, and dive deeper into their personal walk with Christ. We will narrow in on growing in godly character by learning about and practicing Biblical principles such as courage, wisdom, humility, integrity, responsibility, hard work, and teamwork.

Activities/Skills include: Physical fitness training, fire building, shelter building, knots, map reading, compass navigation, basic first aid, horsemanship and horseback riding, lassoing, farm work, games, and more!

Throughout the program, each boy will have the opportunity to put their learning to the test and earn patches based on their ability to successfully master skills and display Godly character traits. Click the button below to learn more and see the patches the boys will be working towards.

About the Instructor:

This program is led by Caleb Havanka. Caleb is a trained and certified Wilderness First Responder skilled at teaching and practicing rugged wilderness survival. Caleb attended a Bible school and participated in an outdoor leadership/survival program where he received a Bachelor's degree in Leadership Ministry. During his time in the program, he learned survival skills, led physical training, hiked numerous mountains (including a 69 mile hike in 72 hours), and went on many disaster relief trips including Wilmington, NC (Hurricane Florence), the British Virgin Islands (Hurricane Irma), and Louisiana (Hurricane Ida).

In Caleb’s free time he loves to study history, law, and Scripture, go on hikes, horseback ride, and work on the farm alongside his wife and son. His passion is to share his love for God’s truth with the next generation and to equip young men to boldly proclaim and defend the true message of Christ in this pivotal point in history.
